Another skeleton is emerging from Hillary Clinton’s packed closet.
On April 16, the Committee to Defend the President filed suit against the FEC for failing to take action on a report submitted last December. The report lays out evidence of Clinton laundering money through state offices in order to avoid federal campaign laws regarding donation limits. In addition, this was all taking place whilst she reportedly was in control of the DNC and its finances.
The court filing asserts that “Public statements from the DNC’s former chairwoman Donna Brazile reveal that the DNC transferred the HVF (Hillary Victory Fund) funds it received through the state parties to HFA (Hillary for America). She further disclosed that the Clinton campaign also directly controlled the DNC’s funds.”
The action appears to be expressly to avoid the FEC’s own regulations regarding federal campaign finance laws. Furthermore, 28 Democratic state offices are included in the report as well as treasurers.
There are at least five different prohibitions that address in the report, including avoiding donation limits by laundering transactions. Another major claim is that some sizable donations weren’t recorded to be under state control or even passed through state offices. Yet exact contributions to state offices matched those of contributions allocated to Clinton’s organizations spanning from within a day to two days.
Donors wrote out sums of money to those state offices, likely being fully aware of where the money would end up. These donations were about 100 times larger than allowed, making those who contributed in excess legally accountable. Among some of these donors were Calvin Klein, and Seth MacFarlane, the creator of Family Guy.
Head counsel for the Committee to Defend the President, Dan Backer, stated in an article from December, “Roughly $84 million may have been laundered in what might be the single largest campaign finance scandal in U.S. history.”
All this is made more sinister when taking into account Donna Brazile’s statement in an article from Politico in November 2017, “The [Clinton] campaign had the DNC on life support, giving it money every month to meet its basic expenses, while the campaign was using the party as a fund-raising clearinghouse.”
Despite the entire debacle painting a picture of a massive scandal dipped in criminal intent, the mainstream media has been mostly silent.
